Rumor has it that Steve Henderson initiated this project through Lee Barker. Somehow Steve got Lee to do all the work of
organizing and obtaining the lumber for this.
Each contestant received on Juniper board about 8 feet long by 8 inches wide at the November 2010 meeting. The object of the
contest was to build "something upon which to sit". Some of the members decided
that read "something upon which to sit something" which allowed them to build a
table-ish item, but that is creativity for you. Everyone who showed up for the
unveiling meeting in February 2011 got to vote for the best item with three
categories in which to judge them - workmanship, design and finish. The item
with the most votes, counting up each of the categories won. Not surprisingly,
Steve Henderson won! His prize was a small pile of various woods each of the
contestants donated.
